Montana Antelope Hunts
"Passionate about
Pronghorns."
June 1
Deadline-See Below
Pronghorn Antelope are
another specialty at Big Sky Trophy Outfitters.
Montana is a top Antelope hunting destination
and our private ranches have some of the best
goats in Montana.
Trophy Quality
Numerous record class
Antelope have been taken by past Big Sky
clients. Our Pronghorns average between 13
and 16 inches
Shot Opportunity
Most hunters are
amazed at the numbers of animals seen on these
hunts and can hardly wait to come back hunting.
For extra excitement bow hunters or rifle
hunters can schedule antelope hunts in
combination with deer and elk hunts. Shots often range from 100 to 300
yards so sight rifles dead on at 200 yards.
Hunting Areas
We operate exclusively on
private property in Central and Eastern Montana.
We currently have over 80,000 acres of private
ranch leased to ensure quality hunting.
Hunting Methods
Rifle Antelope Hunts are
conducted from early October to early November.
We usually glass several herds of antelope with
spotting scopes and binoculars until we find the
right buck.
Archery hunting for antelope
is best done in September by bow hunting over
waterholes and feeding areas in blinds placed at
prime locations. Another great tactic is to
decoy the mature antelope herd bucks in close
enough for a good bow shot. When they’re hot,
the bucks may run to within 10 yards of the
waiting bow hunters, now that’s an exciting
experience.
Antelope Season
The hunting season is
generally 4 weeks long, opening in Mid October
and closing in Mid November. The first
week or two are exclusively Antelope and then
there are also always several weeks of overlap
between Deer and Antelope seasons, so combo
hunts are available in late October and early
November.
Archery season opens
September 1, and tags are over the counter, so
we can book your dates now.
Best Time
Antelope only hunters will
want to book the opener or the second week,
before the deer combo season opens up.
Guiding Options
Guided Hunts: The outfitter
sponsored license requires that you hunt with a
licensed guide. We offer the option of
booking your hunt with between 1 and 3 hunters
per guide, so you can build a hunt that best
suites your desires and budget. We have
good success even with 3 hunters per guide.
Trophy hunters or special needs hunters will
want to book 1x1 guided hunts.
Accommodations
Motel “Town Hunts”: Stay in town near
restaurants and shopping. Motels are 10-50 miles
from most hunt areas. Hunters pay for their
choice of room and meals. Guide will pick up and
return hunters to their room each day.
Non-hunting guests staying in town are no
charge.
Temperature &
Weather
September will have frosty
nights, but days often warm up to 50 to 70
degrees. October temps often range from 20 to 50
degrees and snow is possible. Check the current
weather forecast with the weather link on the
details page before
you leave for the hunt.

are awarded through a June 1 drawing every year.
