“Hunting the West at its
Best!”
Trophy
Mule Deer, Whitetail, and Pronghorn
Antelope hunting on private Eastern Montana
ranches is our specialty. Big Sky Trophy
Outfitters leases over 80,000 acres of private
hunting lands in Eastern Montana. These
properties are some of the best in Montana for
hunting trophy Mule Deer, Antelope, and
Whitetail.
Montana provides several
unique hunting experiences including a period
where rifle Deer and Antelope hunts can be done
at the same time and late November rut hunts for
Whitetail and Mule Deer.
Location:
We operate on private ranches in Central and
Eastern Montana near the towns of Lewistown and
Forsyth. Our hunt locations are easily
accessible within a few hours drive from Logan
International Airport in Billings, MT. We
advise our hunters to rent a car so that they
have the flexibility of traveling as they
please.
Your outfitter
"Dale Denney" has over 26 years of outfitting
experience in several states with thousands of
successful hunts to his credit. Dale’s primary
goal is to provide you with the best opportunity
to take the trophy of your dreams and to have an
unforgettable experience during your hunt. Dale
wants the memories of your hunt with Big Sky
Trophy Outfitters to be your favorite hunting
story for years to come.
meals & Lodging:
All of our Montana hunts are offered as "hotel"
hunts. Hunters provide their own meals and
lodging in hotels and restaurants. RVs and
campers are also welcome.
The
Terrain is varied including small hills,
agricultural fields, stream bottoms, ravines,
grass lands, prairie, and timbered forests and
mountains, with each resulting in prime habitat
for Mule Deer, Antelope, or Whitetail.
Combination hunts are very popular and
successful, plus many hunters like the option of
hunting for upland birds, coyote, badger, or fox
during their big game hunts with Big Sky Trophy
Outfitters.
Hunting methods often include the use of
stands or a blind near game trails, crops,
feeding areas, waterholes, and logging cuts.
Other effective methods include glassing, spot &
stalk, short brush drives, and hunting on old
logging roads.
Physical condition is not too important
here;
nearly anyone can enjoy a high degree of success
on most hunts regardless of their physical
condition.
Hunting Licenses: An important date
to remember for Montana hunting is March 15.
All rifle deer tags must be applied for by this
date. We have outfitter sponsored tags
available for all of our rifle deer hunters and
we can also take anyone who draws a deer tag in
the general draw.
Montana rifle Antelope hunts are by drawing with
a June 1 deadline. We operate in several
draw areas and we can offer hunts with an 85+%
draw rate.
We also have over the counter archery tags
available for Deer and Antelope.
Hunter
Education is required for all hunters
born after January 1, 1985. Bowhunters
need a bowhunter's ed certification or a
previous archery license.
Hunter
Orange: 400 square inches is required
above the waist if hunting during general rifle
deer and elk seasons or during Upland Bird
seasons.
Equipment List: All hunts do not require
all items on the list; ask about any item you
are not sure of.
Taxidermy and meat processing are
available locally for a fee, or you may choose
to transport your trophy home. Meat
processing is usually done in a day or two.
