Montana Whitetail Deer Hunts
"Best Kept Secret in
the West."
March
15 Deadline-See Below
Montana's reputation for
trophy Mule Deer hunting has overshadowed
another species that Montana should be just as
well known for: Whitetail Deer!
Our properties encompass
timbered hillsides and agricultural valley
bottoms that are the perfect habitat. We
have good genetics for typical mature bucks and
the abundance of food produces large bodied
bucks up to 200lbs.
Trophy Quality
The Whitetails have a
reputation for getting big in Montana. Antlers
on mature bucks commonly run from 15" to 20" or
more in width and many have good tine length,
mass, and scoring potential.
Shot Opportunity
Whitetails here are
plentiful and bow hunting them during the dry
September season over water holes and game
trails leading into agricultural fields is very
effective. Rifle hunting them during the
November rut can also offer you a prime
opportunity of bagging yourself a trophy class
animal. Quality whitetails are more abundant in
Montana than in most states, so it is possible
to see several mature bucks in a day. Shots often range from 100 to 300
yards so sight rifles dead on at 200 yards.
Hunting Areas
We operate exclusively on
private property in Central and Eastern Montana.
We currently have over 80,000 acres of private
ranch leased to ensure quality hunting.
Hunting Methods
Hunting methods often
include spot & stalk hunting, sitting and
watching water holes, glassing &
spotting open hillsides. Lots of good
hunting country has nearby vehicle access, so we
can accommodate hunters of any physical
condition.
Deer Season
The hunting season is
generally 5 weeks long, ending on the Sunday
after Thanksgiving. There are also always
several weeks of overlap between Deer and
Antelope seasons, so combo hunts are available
in late October and early November. Trophy
hunters will love our late November rut hunts.
Archery season opens
September 1, and we have some excellent
locations for stands and blinds just waiting for
you.
Best Time
The seasons are set such
that the hunting is good here all the way
through. The opener and the next week are
always popular and the Antelope combo hunters
will want to book here. Trophy hunters or
those with previous rut hunt experience tend to
hold out for the last two weeks when the big
bucks tend to make more mistakes.
Guiding Options
Guided Hunts: The outfitter
sponsored license requires that you hunt with a
licensed guide. We offer the option of
booking your hunt with between 1 and 3 hunters
per guide, so you can build a hunt that best
suites your desires and budget. We have
good success even with 3 hunters per guide.
Trophy hunters or special needs hunters will
want to book 1x1 guided hunts.
Accommodations
Motel “Town Hunts”: Stay in town near
restaurants and shopping. Motels are 10-50 miles
from most hunt areas. Hunters pay for their
choice of room and meals. Guide will pick up and
return hunters to their room each day.
Non-hunting guests staying in town are no
charge.
Temperature &
Weather
September will have frosty
nights, but days often warm up to 50 to 70
degrees. October temps often range from 20 to 50
degrees and snow is possible. Check the current
weather forecast with the weather link on the
details page before
you leave for the hunt.
