We take one group at a time on the ranch, and we only take a few groups each year, everyone sees plenty of prairie dogs, more than you would see hunting on public lands. A minimum of two shooters is required for a prairie dog shooting trip.

This is the fun part: there are thousands of prairie dogs, so you can shoot until you're tired of shooting. We generally shoot about 8 hours each day, unless shooters run out of ammo before then. It's great practice for archers, pistols, and primitive or modern rifles.
Bearpaw Outfitters can offer long range shooting advice and what ajustments to make when shooting in windy conditions. This is the perfect setting to learn with plenty of repeat shooting expereince. In only one or two days, shooters can greatly enhance their shooting skills.
We recommend bringing at least one center fire rifle, a .22 semi-auto rifle, a pistol, and black powder weapons or bows if you have them. You're also welcome to shoot badgers, coyotes, fox, and skunks if seen. Bring shooting bags, shooting sticks, and bipods if you have them.

In summer the weather is normally dry and hot, but the wind usually blows enough to keep it comfortable. Bring sun protection, and remember to check the Weather Forecast before leaving for your trip.
